Studio Pierrot ( Naruto) adapted Togashi's manga into an anime, which debuted in October 1992 and initially aired until 1994, producing 112 episodes. Over 50 million copies of YuYu Hakushohave been sold in Japan alone, and the series received several instances of prominent recognition in the industry, including winning the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award in 1993.
With 175 individual chapters of content, the story follows delinquent teenager Yusuke Urameshi, who, after his death and resurrection, becomes the Spirit Detective, giving him the responsibility of investigating cases in the Human World that involve demons and apparitions.
Togashi first published YuYu Hakusho in Shueisha's Weekly Sh�nen Jump magazine in December 1990 and continued to do so until the series' conclusion in 1994.
